We’ve had a busy few months here at Addictions North East since our last blog post, with loads of activities and events going on.
Days out in the sun
Summer has finally arrived and it’s been lovely to have some nice weather over the past couple of months, even it’s been intermittent at best! The groups went out on the 19th of June and had a lovely time at the beach in the sun. It was closely followed by another lovely day on the coast on 24th June.
Renovating the horse box
On 20th June, some of our amazing volunteers worked with The Barn at Easington to renovate a horse box. Well done to everyone for the hard graft!
Our “A Team” in the football
On 28th June, the lads went down to Leicester to represent ANE in a National tournament. Well done to “The A Team”. Congratulations to you all. Proud that you could represent us in a National Tournament
Some new videos
Some of you may be aware that over the past few months, we’ve been working on some cinematic videos to showcase all of the brilliant work we do at ANE and AUK. We were really excited to start releasing those videos to our YouTube channel at the beginning of July. We’re so pleased to see how well they’ve turned out, and you can see the videos dotted around our website now. Here are a couple of our favourites:
Watching the England games
In July, we had a great time watching the England games from our recovery centre. Not the result we were all hoping for in the final, but we’re proud of how well Gareth and the lads did!
Litter picking
We had a fantastic day on 26th July when all ANE clients & staff were out and about litter picking, helping Seaham in Bloom, recovery connection, giving back to our community
A visit from our colleagues in India
Addictions North East and Addictions UK were delighted to host our colleagues from Hyderabad India in July, too. We are planning to visit Hope Trust in India with six staff members from our two agencies in November 2024. Our latest Recovery Learning Journey will focus on abstinence well being exploring spirituality and the rich culture of that country. We are grateful to Hope Trust for supporting our visit. Our partnership of sharing good practices continues after nearly two decades.
